[olug] Getting LILO back

I have found out that grub-boot-0.5.95.tar.gz doesn't have the documentation. To find out this
much meant that I had to locate, purchase, and download WinZip. (I have used an evaluation copy
for years on another system no longer available to me. It seemed only right to purchase one for a
change.) The grub-0.5.95.tar.gz is innocent of holding a docs subdirectory. However, it does have
a bunch of .texi files which look worthwhile. Note: I am having to use a seldom used copy of
Windoze. This means that I can't as the Readme says "See the GRUB manual for details about using
GRUB as your bootloader. Type "info grub" in the shell prompt." Now there is a grub.info file
which is not terribly readable by human beings. However, there is a reference to a grub.texi file.
This is a little more readable and references a tutorial.texi file. I should be able to read over
this file (and use the results this evening). Yes, the rawrite program (and an even better one,
suitable for windows) is on the Linux Mandrage 7.02 CD-ROM. Now if I can get the verdammen CD-RW
drive to actually open and recognize I've put a CD-ROM in it, life will proceed. THIS time I'm
going to copy all those windows utilities onto the hard drive. ---Jay
