[OLUG] Red Hat on laptop

I've got RH 6.1 on my Gateway Solo 2500.  It works very well, including the
sound.  The only problem I had was using PartitionMagic to partition it so I
could keep the Win98 side (it's a work laptop).  It was reporting bad sectors,
so I booted into DOS, ran scandisk which fixed the errors, then I could run PM.
 This is the 2nd Gateway laptop I have had to do this on.

I followed http://www.fatcatlabs.com/jason/solo2500.html for directions on the
sound setup.  He says to buy the OSS drivers, but the version shipped with RH
6.1 works well.  I only followed his instructions for the sound, since RH
detected everything else automatically, including the Neomagic video chipset
and the PCMCIA Megahertz Ethernet/56k modem dual card.
