[OLUG] fsckin' netscape must die

You're not a linux geek 'till you bitch about Netscape ;)
I just tried out the latest Mozilla milestone, and it is looking /really/
nice. Once that gets stable enough to use, we'll actually have a decent
browser. As for Netscape, I just disable java. Havn't had a reason to enable
it yet.

I've been running nescape 4.6 and 4.61 and I have never been more
disappointed in a linux application. I've had a steady stream of crashes,
mostly
related to Java/Javascript so far as I can tell, and the behavior is getting
steadily worse as time passes - it feels just like a six month old windos NT
workstation install - slowly slipping towards outright insanity and
reinstallation. I am using redhat 6.1 at home and redhat 6.0 at work with
both
systems upgraded to run 4.61. The 6.1 box is *much* crazier when netscape is
up
... I've had Java starting lead to outright xserver crashes on a number of
occasions.

Is anyone else suffering this indignity? I spend most of my day
browsing/emailing and using staroffice so it really stinks to have 50% of my
main
software puking on a regular basis. Are there any strategies for stabilizing
it?
Or at least containing the damages?
